History
Challenge Labels opened September 1st, 1991. As in the saying “Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”, so it was with Challenge Labels. The first step: a staff of one and a primitive sticker press. Initially, Challenge had no pre-press facilities, artwork, imagesetting, platemaking, etc., all had to be jobbed out.
Today, Challenge has its own art department, makes all its own plates, and runs 2 to 8 colour presses from facilities ten times the size of the original. Together with Labels Unlimited, an established Winnipeg based firm that became our partner in 1993, we represent a significant portion of the flexographic label production capacity in Western Canada.
Our Mission
To attain a partnership with our customers by providing a quality product and dedicated service at a fair price. And to that end… There Is No Finish Line.
The above statement defines the state of mind we encourage at Challenge Labels. It also reminds us to never be satisfied with the status quo – from quotation to shipment, every member of our team is an equal partner in the search to better supply our customers with what they want and need.
Goals
- To bring together people with a positive attitude to customer service and dedication to a cooperative work ethic. Individual egos and petty politics have no place in our organization.
- To make the time spent at work, rewarding in more than monetary terms.
- To build our company for the long term, rather than just reacting to day-to-day urgencies.
- To be recognized in the industry as possessing a spirit of cooperation, dependable service and exemplary producr quality.

Service
Deadlines are part of our industry. When we pledge to meet a specific deadline, we will do so. However, we believe our customers are better served over the long term, when we provide them with the knowledge and sales service to plan their labeling requirements in a timely fashion.
Customer service takes a positive role in all aspects of our business. for example, we often send an alternative design layout and/or cost-saving suggestions along with a client's proof. Usually the client will opt for our suggestion, and even when they don't, we know our extra efforts are appreciated.
